KITCHEN....

SO, AT THE MOMENT, I HAVE AROUND 5 MAJOR AND SEMI MAJOR PROJECTS GOING ON RIGHT NOW. YEAH, IT DRIVES MY HUSBAND CRAZY. HE'S THE VERY DETAILED ORIENTED ACCOUNTANT WHO LIKES TO FOCUS ON ONE THING AT A TIME, AND I AM THE FREE ARTSY TYPE THAT GOES FROM ONE PROJECT TO THE NEXT, THEN BACK TO THE LAST AND SO FORTH. :)SO THE BIGGEST PROJECT THAT I AM DOING RIGHT NOW IS MY KITCHEN. I AM PAINTING ALL THE CABINETS WHITE. AS YOU CAN SEE I STILL HAVE A WAYS TO GO TO MAKING MY LITTLE KITCHEN PERFECT..

I AM TRYING TO DECIDE IF I WANT TO PAINT THE BACK SPLASH WHITE HIGH GLOSS. THE TILE IS NOT BAD AT ALL , BUT I KINDA WANTED A MORE MODERN LOOK LIKE THIS BELOW. WHAT DO Y'ALL THINK?

ALSO I HAVE TO FIND A LIGHT FIXTURE FOR OVER THE EATING AREA. WHAT'S RIGHT THERE AT THE MOMENT IS JUST NOT PRETTY...

YEAH SO UGLY. ( AND YOU CAN SEE I HAVE TO PAINT THE CEILING TO! ) I AM TRYING TO DECIDE BETWEEN TO STYLES OF LIGHT FIXTURES...

AN INDUSTRIAL PENDANT LIGHT LIKE THESE... OR A CRYSTAL CHANDELIER SIMILAR TO THIS ONE...

SO AS YOU CAN SEE... A LOT TO DO AND SOME DECISIONS TO MAKE.
ON MY HUNT YESTERDAY I FOUND TO NEW DRESSERS. THEY ARE AWESOME. HOPEFULLY  LATER THIS WEEK I WILL INTRODUCE THEM TO YOU. Y'ALL HAVE A FABULOUS DAY!

I would totally paint the tile backsplash a high gloss white. I think it would bring a freshness to your kitchen. I have no doubt you'll find the perfect light fixture--you always find treasures! Have fun transforming your kitchen!

Hi there- just a quick comment to say I really like your blog! I keep a close watch on craigslist finds in Dallas and I believe that's how I ran across your site. I enjoy seeing your picks. I too am considering those sorts of fixtures for my dining space. I like the crystal chandeliers in magazines but just wonder if I could pull it off. I will check back to see what you find. :) -Erin

I would totally paint the tiles. I don't know if the kitchen would be too bland with everything white...in order to do that you need dark floors...if you do it then would work with bold accent pieces. When I saw your kitchen, I thought a chocolate brown would look great, but that is just my opinion.

The chandelier is elegant, I just feel it would be to rich and heavy for a kitchen. I love the industrial type lighting...

I don't know if you know that Habitat for Humanity have outlet stores where they sell amazing vintage fixtures they tear out from house they work on. There you will find loads of stuff for your kitchen, from hardware to wallpaper, and cheap! And of course all goes to a good cause. I know there is one in Denton, but do not know where is one near you. Please let us know what you finally plan to do, I would love to see this work, and the bathroom in progress.
