COLORS....

SO, I HAVE BEEN THINKING... AND CONTEMPLATING... AND WONDERING... AND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT... ABOUT COLOR.

SEE I WANT TO BE ABLE TO TAKE A FURNITURE PIECE AND MAKE IT INTO A PIECE OF ART. A ONE OF A KIND PIECE. BUT, THERE IS A BUT... WHAT COLORS CAN I CHOOSE AND PAINT THAT WILL ACTUALLY SELL. HOW TO BE CREATIVE AND ARTISTIC AND FREE WITH COLOR AND DESIGN ON A TABLE OR A BUFFET AND KNOW THAT THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT WILL BUY THAT GREEN PIECE OR THAT RED PIECE, ETC. I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS THAT GO THROUGH MY MIND EVERY DAY BUT I ALWAYS SAY " NO THAT WON'T WORK BECAUSE IT WON'T SELL". THE PIECES THAT SELL THE FASTEST ARE BLACK PIECES, BECAUSE THEY ARE MORE NETURAL. I DON'T KNOW, SORRY FOR RAMBLING. :) LIKE I SAID JUST THINKING....

  1. I think a strong color is great - what about posting the "raw" piece for a week with a price for it to be finished and seeing if anyone would want to buy it and have you do a custom paint job per their request. Oh and your ideas like those yellow beds a while back were great!!

  2. It's hard, because while I might think a strong red or pink piece of furniture is great - I don't think I'd buy it because it may not go with my stuff. I like Linsey's idea of offering up custom work. Maybe do a small piece as an "example" - that way, if it doesn't sell, you're not out a bunch of money.

  3. I too like Linsey's idea. I've even thought of buying a piece of furniture and contacting you about refinishing it.
